THBThumbnail Control is designed to view small preview pictures from image files located on your harddisk, CD or any other valid file system source.
The Viewer is part of the Professional Edition and thus supports all file formats that the Professional Edition(THBImageEdit object) is capable of and can take advantage of Enterprise Edition functionality to improve quality and speed.
Source pictures for thumbnails
Everything you need to do is assigning the path to the folder containig all the pictures. Or you can create a string array containg all picture files plus path. In this way you are not limited to one folder and you can show thumbnails from pictures anywhere on your harddisk.
If you work with multipage files the Thumbnail viewer can show a thumb for each page too.
Operation mode
The Viewer loads each picture as fast as possible and tries to just load the image data necessary to create the thumbnail preview but that is just possible for image file formats that were designed for this purpose.
It also tries to extract EXIF thumbnails created by digital cameras… After loading the picture a small thumbnail gets created.
If there are approx. 10 thumbnails ready the display gets updated to show the thumbnails in a scrollable grid.
All these steps happen in a background thread to keep your main application responsive and working.
Thumbnail viewer style
If you don’t like the default style of the displayed thumbnails you can use the provided properties to change their appearance.
Events
The provided events allow you to do further processing with the selected picture.
